Mental health – we all have it, and just like physical health, it is important that we acknowledge it and take care of it. If we have a headache, we treat it, if we injure ourselves, we apply first aid and if we have an emergency we go to the hospital. Why is it so different for mental health?
Experiencing mental health difficulties, whether on a short- or long-term basis, can often have an impact on day-to-day life. There are many things we can do to help ourselves, and it’s important to know what works well for us as individuals, as we’re all different.
We asked some of our staff to share their top-tips for looking after their mental health. What’s great is that all the answers are different! There’s no right or wrong, but it’s about each person finding the thing that helps them – and then choosing to do it!
Here’s some responses from the team, hopefully you can feel inspired by them and encouraged to intentionally find what works for you!
Understanding how you can care for your mental health is essential for maintaining wellbeing.
Knowing when to reach out for help is also important – and it is not a weakness. It takes strength and courage to ask for help.
