It’s been an exciting month at Fresh Start as we have re-launched our “1Life – Your Journey” Course and it’s now ACCREDITED with ASDAN! Originally written over 10 years ago by one of our longest-standing members of staff, Simon Creasey, the 1Life Course has been delivered to many students, with extremely encouraging and positive results. However, 10 years ago the world was a different place, and the course content had become out of date, so we have spent the past year rewriting the course and bringing it up to date.
"1LIFE – YOUR JOURNEY" To dream big, to believe in themselves, and to take proactive steps towards creating the life they envision.
In the labyrinth of life, challenges often lurk in every corner, testing our resolve and shaking our foundation. For some, these obstacles seem insurmountable, casting a shadow over their hopes and dreams. However, amidst the turmoil, there are tales of resilience, of individuals who defied the odds and carved their path to success.
At Fresh Start, we believe in nurturing and empowering every young person, regardless of their background, to overcome these barriers and thrive. We understand the unique challenges faced by our young people, be it due to their home environment, family circumstances or special educational needs. Our mission is clear: to ignite a spark of HOPE within each young heart, to offer guidance, support, and a fresh perspective on life.
The “1Life – Your Journey” course begins by offering a beacon of light to young people. By looking at some of the role models and famous people the young people look up to, we examine their journeys and discover the challenges and barriers they have faced and overcome.
These people serve as a reminder that success is not always a smooth path, but rather a journey filled with twists and turns, highs and lows. By highlighting these stories, we aim to inspire our students and show them that with determination and resilience, they too can conquer their obstacles.
As the course progresses, we delve into topics such as goal setting, self-belief, and the power of a positive mindset. We encourage our students to dream big, to believe in themselves, and to take proactive steps towards creating the life they envision. Through interactive workshops, group discussions, and personal reflection, we guide our young learners towards unlocking their full potential.
At Fresh Start, we are not just educators; we are mentors, cheerleaders, and champions for our students. We celebrate their victories, no matter how small, and offer a supportive hand during their setbacks. Our goal is to create a safe space where every individual feels valued, heard, and encouraged to shine brightly.
