Course overview
This course provides a foundation in trauma awareness, exploring how adverse experiences and chronic stress can influence behaviour, relationships, emotional regulation and learning. Participants gain a deeper understanding of the developing brain and nervous system, as well as the factors that promote resilience and recovery.
How does it work?
The course helps staff move beyond assumptions about behaviour and develop a trauma-aware mindset rooted in curiosity rather than judgement. By understanding the impact of trauma on the brain and nervous system, participants learn how to interpret behaviour through a more informed and compassionate lens.
