Course overview
This practical course helps staff understand why behaviour escalates and how adult responses can influence outcomes. Participants develop confidence in managing disruption, de-escalating behaviour and implementing positive behaviour support strategies that promote long-term success.
How does it work?
The course views escalation as a biological process rather than a behavioural choice. Staff learn how to remain calm under pressure, apply effective de-escalation techniques and use Positive Behaviour Support strategies to reduce repeated patterns of disruption over time.
